BEEF STROGANOFF

4 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 pounds round steak
1/2 cups onion, chopped
8 oz canned, sliced, mushrooms with juice
1 cup sour cream
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper


Cut round steak into 1/2 inch slices and brown in butter.  Add to steak the chopped onions, sauté until light brown.  Add mushrooms.  Cover and simmer until meat is tender.  Add sour cream.  Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.  Add 3/4 teaspoons salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.  Serve over rice or noodles.  Makes 4 servings.
